ACU to Meet SFA in WAC Tournament

ABILENE – Abilene Christian gets the first shot to do what no other WAC volleyball team has done this season – pin a loss on top-seeded Stephen F. Austin when the teams meet Thursday in the WAC Quarterfinals.
ACU meets the 'Jacks at 5 p.m. (Central) in Orem, Utah.
The Wildcats come in with an 11-17 overall and 6-10 conference record after falling to Tarleton State in the regular season finale on Monday.
SFA won the regular-season meeting, 3-0, in Nacogdoches on Oct. 14 and has a seven-match win streak in the series.
Braden Bossier and Ashli Edmiston had seven kills each for ACU in the October meeting. Sara Carrizales logged three aces. SFA had a .372 attack percentage for the match.
The 'Jacks have won 16 consecutive matches on their way to a 27-3 record and a 16-0 WAC mark.
Bryley Steinhilber leads ACU with 2.91 kills per set. Madeline Guffy gets 9.13 assists per set and leads the team with 42 aces.
Carrizales is the Wildcats' digs leader at 3.521 per set and Braden Bossier leads the squad with 0.59 blocks per set.
If ACU wins the Thursday game, the Wildcats face Texas-Arlington or Utah Valley Friday at 7 p.m. (Central) in the semifinals. The championship match is Saturday at 7 p.m.
