Another match ends in sweep as ‘Cats stay unbeaten in league play

BEAUMONT, Texas – The ACU men's tennis team picked up its' third straight win on Saturday, defeating UTRGV 7-0. The Wildcats, who were picked to win the Western Athletic Conference, have yet to surrender a point in league in action, defeating opponents by a combined score of 18-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Jose Maria Rastrojo and Riley Tran teamed up for a 6-1 win in #3 doubles, and Savan Chhabra partnered with Dario Kmet to give the 'Cats the doubles point following a 7-6 victory on Court 2.
- Cesar Barranquero was the first Wildcat to wrap up singles action, picking up a quick 6-0, 6-1 win in the fifth flight to make it a 2-0 lead.
- Daniel Morozov picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win in the top flight, and Tyler Stewart gave ACU the victory with a 6-1, 6-2 victory on Court 4.
- Chhabra made quick work of his opponent to extend the Wildcat lead to 5-0, while Kmet and Oswaldo Cano followed with victories in the second and sixth flights respectively.
UP NEXT:
- The Wildcats look to continue their hot streak on Sunday, when they take on Lamar in the first true road WAC match in program history.
