EDINBURG, Texas — The Wildcats closed out the regular season on Saturday facing UTRGV on the road. The Vaqueros got out to an early lead in set one and while the Wildcats made a late push in the set, they fell 17-25. The second set featured long runs by both teams with the Wildcats jumping out to an 11-6 lead before UTRGV responded with a run of their own to go up 15-13. It was back and forth the rest of the set with the Vaqueros coming away with win to take the 2-0 lead. UTRGV took that momentum into set three and got the sweep over the Wildcats.

News and Notes

Lindsey Toney led the Wildcats with 13 kills and added two service aces and two block assists.
Braden Bossier led the team in hitting percentage, hitting .300 in the match.
Three different Wildcats had at least five digs on the day with Madison Lawler leading the way with 11.
The Wildcats had the advantage in service aces (4-2) and blocks (8-6).
Brea Box led the team with four blocks.
