WACO - Abilene Christian men's tennis (8-6) started its Spring Break series of duals with a 5-2 loss to Valparaiso (5-6) that was followed by a 4-1 win and two-match season series sweep of Prairie View A&M (1-19). Both matches took place at Baylor University Tennis Center.

Senior Jonathan Sheehy and freshman Savan Chhabra were the lone Wildcats to come out of singles unscathed by a loss. Sheehy won both his top-line matches in straight sets vs. Brandon Ancona and Xavier Lawrence, while Chhabra edged Valpo's Philipp Leithold, 7-6, 7-6. His match vs. the Panthers' Rodrigo Yoshikata was left unfinished.

Sophomore Riley Tran also was a winner vs. Prairie View, dispatching Juan Malham Viada, 7-5, 6-3.

Sheehy leads the team with nine singles wins, and is second to Jackson Fine (8) with seven doubles victories.

The Wildcats' continue their road swing with four matches played later this week between Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. ACU faces UMKC and Northwest Missouri State in Kansas City, Wichita State Saturday afternoon, and Oklahoma State Sunday in Stillwater.
