Wildcats conclude season-opening road swing this weekend in Baltimore

BALTIMORE – The ACU Wildcats will return to action this weekend at the Battle 4 Atlantis Mainland Tournament when they take on both West Alabama and Towson at the SECU Arena.

Towson (4-2) is hosting the tournament, which also features The Citadel in the field. ACU will take on West Alabama at 6:30 p.m. (Abilene time) Friday and will then play Towson at 12 p.m. (Abilene time) on Saturday.

No local radio coverage of either ACU game will be provided, but Wildcat fans can still listen to and watch both ACU games in the tournament. Friday's game against West Alabama and Saturday's game against Towson will be live streamed at towsontigers.com/liveEvents/liveEvents.dbml.

Abilene Christian (2-6) had its two-game winning streak snapped with a 93-65 setback at Xavier on Monday. Junior guards Harrison Hawkins and LaDarrien Williams each average more than 11 points per game for the Wildcats, who are playing the last two games of a season-opening 10-game road swing this weekend.

West Alabama is a Division II school that competes in the Gulf South Conference. The Tigers are 1-2 on the year with a pair of losses to Montevallo (Ala.). The Tigers have also played two exhibition games against NCAA Division I teams this season, posting losses at UTEP (67-46) and Southern California (73-57).

Towson (4-2) is coming off a 75-60 home win over UMBC on Tuesday. Senior Marcus Damas led the Tigers with a season-high 22 points and seven rebounds.

The Tigers have won eight straight home games dating back to last season and are a perfect 4-0 inside their new home, SECU Arena.

ACU will play its first home game of the season Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. when it hosts Hillsdale Freewill Baptist in the second half of a doubleheader during the Wildcats' annual Christmas Slam festivities.
