Wildcats Let Early Lead Slip In 2-1 Loss At Texas Woman's

DENTON, Texas - Andrea Carpenter's third goal of the year gave the Wildcats an early 1-0 lead, but it quickly vanished after Brittany Martin struck back-to-back scores in the 30th and 36th minutes, which led Texas Woman's to a 2-1 victory Friday night.
Martin's goals were her seventh and eighth of the year, and were assisted, respectively, but Emily Davila and Katy Black. Carpenter's goal in the 11th minute was unassisted.
Carpenter played all 90 minutes and placed all three of her shots on goal, but her final two during the last five minutes of regulation were both stopped by goalkeeper Lindsey Sisco, who finished the match with four saves.
Sisco also saved two shots off the foot of Ashley Craig in the 35th and 82nd minutes, and was helped by a defender that blocked a Lexi Stirling shot with about nine minutes to go. Right before Stirling's attempt, Krysta Grimm blasted a shot that ricocheted off the post.
ACU outshot Texas Woman's 14-12, including 7-3 in the second half to go along with a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Wildcat goalkeeper Arielle Moncure made two saves, both of which came in the first half.
The Wildcats return to action Sunday for a 1 p.m. match at Texas A&M-Commerce.
