ABILENE -- Jody Meyer scored 20 points and grabbed 25 rebounds Saturday afternoon as the ACU women's basketball team strung together back-to-back victories for the first time this season as the Wildcats knocked off Southwestern Oklahoma State, 84-68, in a Lone Star Conference crossover game at Moody Coliseum.

The win pushes the Wildcats to 4-3 on the season, while the Bulldogs fall to 0-7. ACU will be back in action next Saturday at 6 p.m. when it takes on Texas A&M-Commerce in Commerce.

Meyer's double-double effort saw her set a new career-high for rebounds in a game, and led a contingent of five Wildcats who either set or tied career highs in a particular category on Saturday.

Besides Meyers career-high in rebounds, Kelsey Darby-Holson set a career-best with 18 points, while Sara Montgomery (four points) and Danielle Hartley (three points) each came off the bench for career-high in points. Autumn Whitaker scored 11 points in a starting role to tie a career-high.

ACU led by double figures for most of the game before the Bulldogs went on a 21-10 run to cut the Wildcats' 46-30 lead to 55-50 with 10:36 to play. Lucy Livingston capped the run with a layup after she stole the ball from ACU freshman guard Cecilee Perez.

But the Wildcats immediately responded with a 6-0 run as Meyer hit two free throws, Darby-Holson hit a layup and Kundmuellerhit a layup after a steal to make it 61-50 with 8:26 to play.

Southwestern cut the lead back to nine (62-53) with 6:59 left, but ACU answered with a 12-4 run over the next 2:19 to push the lead back to 17 points (74-57) and put the game away. Whitaker had the bookends on the run with a pair of jumpers, while Darby-Holson, Kundmueller and Jamie and Jody Meyer each had two points in the game-winning spurt.
