Biography

2008-09 (Junior)

Kelsey was second on the team in three point percentage connecting  on 33% … she averaged 8.6ppg as she started all but one game for the Wildcats …  she set a new career high at West Texas A&M (1/17/09) with 16 points and tied it against UT-Permian Basin (2/7/09) …  she was the fifth leading scorer and will be the third returner for ACU … she averaged 2.6 assist and 3.4 rebounds per game as she averaged over 25 minutes for the Wildcats

 

2007-08 (Sophomore)

Averaged four points and 2.3 rebounds per game for the Wildcats, playing in all 29 games and starting in 10. Led the Wildcats with career highs in points and rebounds when she recorded the first double-double of her collegiate career with 15 points and 10 boards in a two-point loss to St. Mary’s Nov. 20, 2007. Scored 11 points at East Central Dec. 6 and had 10 points in ACU’s LSC Tournament opening win over Texas A&M-Commerce March 6, 2008. Shot .382 from the field and averaged one assist per contest.

 

2006-07 (Freshman)

Played in 20 games for the Wildcats in a season that was shortened for Darby because of an ankle injury. Averaged 2.7 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Led ACU in free-throw shooting at 80 percent. She scored a season-high 10 points in a Nov. 21 win over Texas Lutheran, and later in the month (Nov. 27) she pulled down a season-high 11 rebounds in a win over Texas-Permian Basin.

 

High school

As a senior in 2005-06, Darby helped lead Wylie to a 27-6 record and a runner-up finish at the Class 3A state tournament in Austin. The Lady Bulldogs lost to China Spring, 57-54, in the state title game. Darby, the co-MVP of District 4-3A, averaged 9.3 points and 4.3 steals per game and was one of the top defensive players in the league. She was also named to the state tournament all-tournament team, and she was first team all-Region I-3A and was named an academic all-state performer. Darby also played in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches’ all-star game last summer.

2006 graduate of Abilene Wylie High School where she played for head coach Alan Ayers. Born 18 Feb 1988.
