Wildcats Host Seven Home Matchups in 2026-27 Nonconference Slate

ABILENE - Abilene Christian women's basketball will host a power conference opponent for the second time ever to headline a 15-game nonconference slate, head coach Julie Goodenough announced Tuesday. ACU will host Northwestern on Nov. 18, the first power conference foe to visit Moody Coliseum since Arkansas in 2018.
The Wildcats' season begins Nov. 2 versus Howard Payne, the first of 15 home games on the docket, including seven in nonconference action. ACU also hosts Stetson (Dec. 14) and Florida Gulf Coast (Dec. 21) as part of the Unisun Sports alliance between the United Athletic Conference and the Atlantic Sun.

After the season opener, the Wildcats begin a three-game in-state road trip to Houston Christian (Nov. 6) and UT Rio Grande Valley (Nov. 11) before capping it with a visit to TCU in Fort Worth on Nov. 15. ACU meets the Big Ten's Northwestern on Nov. 18 for the second season in a row after battling in last year's Women's Fort Myers Tip-Off.
The Wildcats hit the road again to take on Samford in Birmingham, Ala. on Nov. 22. ACU will then compete in the North Florida Thanksgiving Classic, taking on North Carolina A&T and South Dakota in Jacksonville, Fla. on Nov. 27-28.
Following an opening month with six matchups away from home, the Wildcats return to the Big Country for five straight games to begin December. They play McMurry (Dec. 1), Southwest (Dec. 16) and Nelson (Dec. 28) to sandwich contests with the Hatters and Eagles.
ACU wraps up its nonconference schedule with a pair of showdowns in the Sunshine State. Continuing the Unisun Sports alliance, the Wildcats pay visits to North Florida (Dec. 31) and Jacksonville (Jan. 2, 2027), separated by just 11 miles.
ACU will meet Samford, North Carolina A&T, South Dakota and North Florida for the first time in program history.
Following nonconference action, ACU will host eight UAC matchups at Moody Coliseum alongside eight road contests in its debut season in the conference. UAC play begins Jan. 6, 2027.
ACU is coming off its second consecutive WNIT Super 16 appearance in 2025-26. The Wildcats went 24-11 for their most wins since 2019-20 and advanced to the Western Athletic Conference title game with a 13-5 mark in conference play.
The Wildcats embark on Year 15 under Goodenough, anchored by a group of 10 returners that includes seven seniors. Reigning WAC Player of the Year Payton Hull leads the pack.
