Dr. Paul Weir joined the ACU Athletics program in November 2023 and currently serves as the Associate Vice President / Chief Revenue Officer. His current responsibilities include strategic direction for ACU Athletics' fundraising, ticketing, marketing and communication departments.

Weir previously held the title of Deputy AD / Chief Operating Officer.

Weir came to ACU from Eastern New Mexico University, where he served as the Director of Athletics from 2021-2023. At ENMU, Weir increased the athletic operating budget by almost 40% in three years. He was able to sign the first MMR deal in school history as well as initiating alcohol sales at athletic contests. He developed the first three endowments in department history and launched several facility upgrades for multiple sports. On the court, the men's basketball program won its first conference championship in 31 years, baseball and softball qualified for postseason tournaments in the same year for the first time in school history, and women's track and field had its highest conference finish in school history. 

ENMU was Weir's first administrative role following a 17-year college coaching career. He was previously the head men's basketball coach at both the University of New Mexico and New Mexico State University in addition to serving as the director of basketball operations at the University of Iowa and as a  graduate assistant at Northwestern State University. During his career, Weir won eight conference championships, participated in seven NCAA Tournaments, won a Gold and Bronze Medal in FIBA competition, and coached 13 NBA players. 

Weir holds a Ph.D. in educational leadership from NMSU and master's degrees in business administration from NMSU, Sport Psychology from the University of Iowa, and Health and Human Performance from Northwestern State University. He is currently an adjunct faculty member at Abilene Christian University and has also taught at both The University of New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico University. 
 
Weir and his wife, Alma, have two sons, Theodore and Noah.
