Abilene Christian added Miranda Rodriguez to the softball coaching staff as an assistant coach in the Fall of 2023.
Rodriguez, who was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection while playing for Kansas, joins the ACU staff after serving a year as a volunteer assistant at Illinois. She also was head coach in the Florida Gulf Coast League in 2022 and a volunteer assistant at Memphis in 2021-22.
"I'm thrilled to add Miranda to our staff," Farler said. "She is a great fit for what we are doing here with ACU softball. As a follower of Christ and fierce competitor, Miranda aligns with the mission of our program. Miranda is a young coach with a great background and experience that we are excited to utilize. Having both Power 5 playing experience as well as coaching experience at different levels, I believe she understands what it takes to compete and win here. She will bring fresh perspectives and ideas to our staff. With the addition of Coach Rodz, we will realign our staff responsibilities which will allow her to take the reins of our defense. I'm excited to get her to Abilene and get to work!"
After a season at Cosumnes River Junior College, Rodriguez played for the Jayhawks from 2017-21 and was a four-time Kansas Athletic Director's and Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll honoree.
She graduated from Kansas in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in exercise science and 2021 with a master's degree in sports management.
