Megan McDonald was hired as academic coordinator in June of 2021. Prior to ACU, McDonald served as an intern with the Sam Houston State Athletic Department from August 2020 through May 2021, working primarily with the student-services staff, assisting with daily compliance tasks, and reviewing student-athlete degree plans.
 
McDonald earned her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Sam Houston State University in 2019 and was a four-year starter on the Sam Houston softball team. McDonald was named the Southland Conference Softball Student-Athlete of the Year in 2020 and was a SAAC representative from 2017-2021.
 
McDonald graduated in May 2021 with her master's degree in public administration from Sam Houston State University, and currently resides in Abilene.
