Luke Lancaster joined the strength and conditioning staff at Abilene Christian University in January 2018, and is heading into his third full season with the Wildcats in 2020-21. Lancaster is the head strength and conditioning coach for the football and women's soccer teams.
Prior to ACU, Lancaster was a staff assistant for the Miami Dolphins where he assisted with all aspects of strength and conditioning. He also assisted with the Dolphins' sports science and nutrition staff on a daily basis. He has also worked at Harvard University, Northwest Missouri State University, and the University of Missouri.
Lancaster was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Harvard, which boasts the largest athletics department in the country. He worked with all 42 varsity sports and was the assistant strength coach for football. Lancaster also served as the head strength and conditioning coach for 10 varsity sports, including wrestling, track and field, and men’s and women’s water polo.
While at Missouri, Lancaster worked as a sports performance intern and assisted with the 2013 Missouri Tiger football team that reached the SEC Championship. He also worked closely with the sports nutrition staff for Missouri, helping with pre and post-workout nutrition.
Lancaster obtained his bachelor’s degree from Northwest Missouri State University in 2013 where he played football and worked as a strength and conditioning intern. During his time there, Lancaster played under current ACU football coach Adam Dorrel and was part of the 2009 NCAA Division II national championship team.
Lancaster holds a SCCC, CSCS, USAW-1, and CPR/First Aid/AED certification. He is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. He earned a Master's of Science Degree in Kinesiology from Hardin-Simmons University in August of 2019.
