Junior: Tomkins replaced all-LSC catcher Jordan Schmitt as he hit .308 in his first season as the Wildcats catcher … he hit four homeruns with 30 RBIs in 133 at bats for the Wildcats … the catcher made 38 starts hitting 11 doubles and slugging .481 … had a season high 6 RBIs going 2 for 5 in a win at Texas A&M-Kingsville … had one 4 hit game vs. Eastern New Mexico and recorded 11 games with two or more hits including a 7 game hit streak to start the season
Sophomore (Wake Forest): Hit .333 in 24 games primarily as backup catcher … earned nine starts with 7 RBI’s in 42 at bats … had three extra base hits including 2 of which were home runs … made only one error behind the plate recording a .989 fielding percentage … went 3-3 against Davidson 4/28/09 with an RBI … made clutch pinch hit against Miami (4/16/09) in only at bat … was 2-4 with 2 RBI’s against Coastal Carolina (4/29/09)
