Soccer Looks To Keep Momentum Against Golden Hurricane

TULSA, Okla. — The Wildcats (2-1-2) will look to keep their offense as hot as it was in Sunday's 3-0 win over East Texas A&M when they travel to the University of Tulsa on Thursday to take on the Golden Hurricane.
The two played last year in Abilene for the Wildcats' home opener in a game the Cats won 1-0 off a goal from Amelia Leggett. The only other time the teams have matched up against each other resulted in a 1-0 loss for ACU in Tulsa in 2014.
The 2025 matchup was Bella Medrano's first career start in which she tallied a shutout, faced 16 total shots and made four saves.
Medrano was named UAC Goalkeeper of the week this past Monday after she recorded two shutouts, contributing to the 0-0 draw against the Big 12's University of Houston.
Gracie Kelly was also awarded a conference weekly award for her defensive efforts against Houston and ETAMU. Kelly has played 90 minutes in all five games so far this season for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats have five goal scorers so far this season in Addison Briscoe (2), Mikayla Abrenica (1), Aliyah Anderson (1), Audrey Coppinger (1), and Shakira Kafero-Roberts (1). Abrenica leads the team in assists with two through five games.
Tulsa has started the season 3-2 with victories over Central Arkansas, Stephen F. Austin and Little Rock. The Golden Hurricane are on a two-loss streak to the University of Oklahoma and the University of Kansas.
Tulsa averages two goals on 12.8 shots per game, which is just over the average of 11.4 that the Wildcats have faced per game this season.
Thursday's game will kick off in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at 7 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
