TULSA, Okla. — Abilene Christian volleyball secured its fourth consecutive victory with a 3-0 sweep of Oral Roberts at the Mabee Center on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats improved to 5-3, matching their best eight-game start to a season in the Division I era, with their longest winning streak since 2023.

ACU caps its road trip when it battles Oklahoma at McCasland Field House in Norman, Okla. at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Wildcats have won five of their last seven road contests as they chase their third all-time victory over a power conference opponent.

ACU limited Oral Roberts to a mere 18 kills in a dominant defensive effort. It's the fewest kills the Wildcats have allowed to an opponent since 2008. ACU swung at a season-best .299 hitting percentage with 43 kills to just 14 attack errors.

Hannah Gonzalez delivered another sterling performance with a career-best nine blocks, including two solos. She led the way with 14 kills on 25 swings at a .480 attack percentage and added a service ace. Hadlee Welch followed with nine kills at a .538 clip with three block assists.

Abby Christian collected four service aces to give her 97 for her career, ranking second in the Wildcats' Division I era. Maddie Finnegan was right behind her with three aces. Rachel Koss amassed 32 assists, and Brennan Ramirez added 18 digs.

ACU wasted little time setting the tone as it jumped to a roaring start in the opening set. It scored 10 of the match's first 12 points and led 15-4 at the technical timeout. The Wildcats didn't slow down, outscoring the Golden Eagles 10-3 the rest of the way for a 25-7 win. Alyssa Todd notched four kills, while Gonzalez and Welch had three apiece. Gonzalez and Welch combined for five kills, and Koss had 11 assists.

The second set was tighter as both teams got off to a 10-10 tie. ACU built a cushion with a 15-12 edge and didn't allow Oral Roberts closer than two points for the remainder of the set. After the Golden Eagles made it 20-18, the Wildcats kept them at bay en route to a 25-20 victory. Gonzalez paced ACU with six kills at .500 and had a hand in each of its three blocks.

The Wildcats engineered another early lead in the third set for a wire-to-wire victory. They moved in front 15-5 at the technical timeout and led by as much as 13 at 22-9. ACU maintained its double-digit advantage as it captured a 25-15 win. Gonzalez and Welch combined for nine kills, with Gonzalez registering each of the Wildcats' three blocks.
