Joseph Venzant and Ma'Shy Hill from Abilene Christian's 2025-26 men's basketball team were placed on the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court representing academic excellence, the organization announced Wednesday.
To qualify for the Honors Court, a student-athlete must have been a junior, senior or graduate student who finished the 2025-26 academic year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Venzant, who exhausted his eligibility after two seasons with ACU, majored in sociology. The Midland native played in all 33 games for the Wildcats and was known for his hustle and strong defensive play.
Hill was a junior in 2025-26 and was a finance major. He also played in all 33 games and was second on the team with 0.4 blocks per game.
"College basketball student-athletes do incredible things on the court, but their achievements in the classroom are equally worthy of celebration," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "Education is one of the NABC's core values, and the hundreds of programs and thousands of athletes represented on these awards reinforce the commitment to academic success that exists across all levels of our sport."
