Venzant Earns CSC Academic All-District Honor

Abilene Christian redshirt senior Joseph Venzant earned an Academic All-District honor from College Sports Communicators, the organization announced on Tuesday.
The award recognizes student-athletes who succeed in the classroom and on the court with a minimum 3.50 GPA, and playing in at least 90% or starting at least 66% of their team's games.
Venzant battled back from a shoulder injury, which prematurely ended his 2024-25 season at ACU. Instead of fighting through it and not being 100%, he decided to have surgery and rehab to be ready for the 2025-26 season.

The guard from Mildland started 23 games this past season, usually taking on the toughest defensive assignment while averaging 4.5 points and 3.2 rebounds. Venzant also finished tied for second on the team with 56 steals, which is good enough for 9th most in a season in ACU's Division I history.
Venzant earned a 3.68 cumulative GPA as a sociology major.
Over his two seasons with the Wildcats, Venzant played in 41 games with 29 starts.
