Wildcats Wrap Up First Tournament of Spring at UCF Challenge

ORLANDO, Fla. - No. 101 Abilene Christian women's golf closed out the UCF Challenge Presented by PDI in 12th place at Eagle Creek Golf Club on Tuesday. The Wildcats carded a 31-over 895 in their first tournament of the spring.

ACU won't have to go far for its next event as it hosts the second annual West Texas Classic at Abilene Country Club's North Course on March 2-3. The Wildcats won the team title and Ryann Honea captured the individual crown at last season's inaugural tournament.

No. 7 Auburn topped the leaderboard at the UCF Challenge at 24-under 840, with the Tigers' Katie Cranston earning the individual crown at 9-under 207.

Kate Pickrell paced ACU in a tie for 41st place at 4-over 220, the first time in her career she has been the top outright performer for the Wildcats in a tournament. She stayed consistent in the final round at 1-over 73, shooting par on all but one hole. Pickrell led ACU on par-5 holes at 1-under.

No. 91 Honea followed in a draw for 53rd place at 6-over 222. She also carded a 1-over 73 in the third round and tied for third in the field with 42 pars. Jasmine Do tied for 66th at 9-over 225. She paced the Wildcats with seven birdies.

Maddi Kamas registered a 3-over 75 in the final round to tie for 7th place at 12-over 228. Marissa Loya rounded things out for ACU in 91st at 22-over 238.
