ACU junior
Tyson Williams has been named the United Athletic Conference Specialist of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Williams returned a Central Arkansas punt 71 yards for a touchdown in the Wildcats' 49-28 victory last Saturday. He is the first ACU player to win the UAC's special teams weekly award since kicker
Ritse Vaes took it in week 3 of the 2024 season for a game-winning field goal at Northern Colorado.
Five Wildcat players have won a total of seven conference weekly honors this season with quarterback
Stone Earle and linebacker
Rashon Myles, Jr., each winning twice. Williams' award marks the fourth consecutive week an ACU player has been recognized as a UAC player of the week.
The punt return was the Wildcats' first returned for a TD since Taelyn Williams recovered a blocked punt in the endzone at Prairie View A&M on Sept. 9, 2023.
ACU earned the No. 10 national seed in the FCS Playoffs, and will play former Southland Conference rival Lamar at Wildcat Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 12 p.m. The game is being
presented by First Financial.
