The No. 19 ACU football team used an overpowering defense, and an offense which scored the third most points in Wildcat Stadium history en route to a 52-23 victory over North Alabama on Saturday afternoon.
Â
The Wildcats (3-3, 2-0) forced the Lions into three-and-outs on their first four possessions of the game, and ACU catapulted to a 21-0 lead by the early parts of the second quarter.
Â
Quarterback
Stone Earle completed his first 13 passes and finished with 261 yards and four touchdowns through the air. The four scores tie his highest total as a Wildcat. Earle also threw four TD in the win over Austin Peay on Sept. 20.
Â
Itty Henry caught two touchdown passes for the first time in his career, and
J.J. Henry and
Javon Gipson also hauled in scoring throws.
Â
ACU rolled up 230 yards on the ground with three different players scoring:
E.J. Wilson, Jr., receiver
Grant Jones on an end-around, and
Jordon Vaughn who had guards
Kaden Carr  and
Landon Roaten blocking the way before he stiff-armed a defender and outran the defense on a 75-yard TD.
Â
ACU's 52 points are the third most since Wildcat Stadium opened in 2017 and the most against an FCS opponent. The Wildcats defeated Arizona Christian 66-14 in 2019, and Louisiana College 62-7 in 2021.
Â
The victory pushes ACU to a 9-1 record on their last ten UAC games.
