PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Abilene Christian men's golf recorded its top finish of the season at the Florida Atlantic Invitational on Tuesday, wrapping up its fall slate in fourth place at Panther National. The tournament was shortened to two rounds as the Wildcats carded an even-par 576, paced by Grégoire Hoyeau in a tie for 10th place.
ACU followed a 2-over 290 first round with a 2-under 286 second round after entering the day in fifth place with only 3-6 holes left to play per golfer. Tarleton State captured the team title at 18-under 558, while North Alabama's Andrew Ferworn topped the individual leaderboard at 8-under 136.
Hoyeau shot under par in both rounds to close at 3-under 141, matching his career-best distance to par from the 54-hole Kosati Pines Intercollegiate in April 2024. He logged a 1-under 71 in the second round in his best performance of the season.
Hoyeau tied for fifth in the field on par-3 holes at 1-under while drawing for ninth on par 4s at 2-under. His seven birdies paced the Wildcats, while his 26 pars tied for sixth in the field. Hoyeau bogeyed just two holes, the fewest on the team.
Thomas Buisson gave a career performance of his own, tying for 14th place at 2-under 142. It's the best placement of his career, regardless of tournament, and his fifth consecutive top-25 showing to begin the season.
Buisson registered a career-best 4-under 68 in the second round with five birdies, the best round by an ACU golfer since
Preston Cooper shot 6-under 65 at the Bentwater intercollegiate this past February. Buisson tied for third in the field with 27 pars.
Cooper followed in a tie for 42nd place at 3-over 147 after a 5-over 77 second round. He tied for ninth on par 5s at 3-under to lead ACU.
Tres Hill used a 2-under 70 second round to move into a tie for 49th place at 4-over 148. He notched five birdies in the final round, including four on the back nine.
Jack Hollingsed rounded out the lineup in a draw for 72nd place at 9-over 153 following a 5-over 77 second round. He tallied three birdies in each round.
ACU returns to the course on Feb. 16-17, 2026 at South Alabama's Hal Williams Collegiate in Mobile, Ala.
