ACU Receives 12th Straight PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award from GCAA

NORMAN, Okla. - Abilene Christian men's golf continued its tradition of academic excellence as it received the 2025-26 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Wednesday. The Wildcats were listed among the nation's best, earning Presidents Special Recognition with a team grade point average over 3.5.
ACU took home the PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award for the 12th consecutive season for their work in the classroom. It's the second time the Wildcats have received Presidents Special Recognition, last doing so in 2019-20.
To be eligible for the Team Academic Award, programs must deliver a team GPA over 3.0 for the 2025-26 academic year. The Wildcats have collected the distinction each season since 2014-15. A GCAA-record 331 teams across six divisions earned the PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award this year, and 155 programs received Presidents Special Recognition.
On Monday, a team-record five ACU golfers were named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars by the GCAA. Thomas Buisson, Tres Hill, Jack Hollingsed, Grégoire Hoyeau and Colin Leonard were each recognized for their academic and athletic success.
The Wildcats are one of 22 Division I programs nationwide with at least five honorees. It marks the 12th consecutive season that an ACU golfer has been named an All-America Scholar and the eighth straight year that multiple Wildcats have garnered such distinction.
Hoyeau and Hollingsed were each named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators in June. Each of ACU's Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars were tabbed Academic All-Western Athletic Conference this past season.
The Wildcats' 2026-27 campaign begins Sept. 13-15 at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational in MacTier, Ontario, Canada. ACU's 2026-27 schedule was unveiled Tuesday.
