
Hollingsed’s Career-Best Score Leads ACU at Hal Williams Collegiate

MOBILE, Ala. - Abilene Christian men's golf wrapped up the Hal Williams Collegiate in 12th place at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Magnolia Grove on Tuesday. Jack Hollingsed reported the best score of his career at even-par 210, pacing the Wildcats in a tie for 28th, his top placement of the season.
ACU faces a quick turnaround as it continues with three tournaments in three weeks. The Wildcats will remain in-state for UTSA's Military City Collegiate, presented by USAA on Feb. 23-24. Teams will compete at TPC San Antonio's Canyons Course.
The Wildcats closed at 12-over 852 as No. 13 Illinois captured the team title, with the Fighting Illini's Ryan Voois and Nebraska's Rudy Sautron topping the individual leaderboard at 15-under 195. ACU tied for fifth in the field on par-3 holes at 5-over and drew for seventh on par 5s at 8-under. The Wildcats' 175 pars were good for seventh.
Hollingsed carded a 3-over 73 in the third and final round, shooting par on each of the final 14 holes. He tied for 20th with three other Wildcats for their efforts on par 5s at 2-under. Hollingsed's previous career-best score came at last season's Florida Atlantic Invitational, where he registered a 4-over 217 to slot into ninth place as a freshman.
Thomas Buisson followed in a tie for 32nd place at 1-over 211. He has shot 1-over or better in each of his six tournaments this season. Buisson also logged a 3-over 73 in the final round as one of the field's best on par 3s, tying for third at 2-under. He also tied for 20th on par 5s and led ACU with 38 pars.
Grégoire Hoyeau was the final Wildcat to shoot 3-over 73 on Tuesday, tying for 44th place at 4-over 214. He paced the team and tied for 15th in the field with 12 birdies, including a trio in the final round. Along with Hollingsed, Hoyeau scored even on par 3s.
Niklas Blalock tied for 67th place at 10-over 220 in his first event of the season, while Preston Cooper rounded out the lineup in a draw for 71st place at 14-over 224.
