
Wildcats Play in Florida with Path to NCAA Berth On the Line

The ACU men's tennis team will be represented by four players at the Conference Individual Tournament hosted by North Florida starting Thursday in Jacksonville.
Tomas Quesada, Luis Jose Nakamine, Dennis Dutiné, and Ethan Scribner will take part in the tournament, which provides a path to the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships at the USTA National Campus in Orlando Nov. 18-23.
The Wildcats, along with fellow WAC school UT Arlington, are competing in the Atlantic Sun for the 2025-26 season. Other schools taking part in the Conference Individual Tournament are North Alabama, North Florida, Bellarmine, Lipscomb, Florida Gulf Coast, Eastern Kentucky, Stetson and Austin Peay. Queens University of Charlotte is not participating.
The singles and doubles champions will represent the ASUN at the ITA Conference Masters Championships, which take place Nov. 6-9 in San Diego, Calif. Each NCAA Division I automatic qualifier-eligible conference will send its champions to take part in the ITA Conference Masters. The four singles semifinals, and the top three doubles pairs will then qualify for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
ACU's doubles pair of Nakamine and Scribner play a qualifying match Thursday at 7:30 a.m. CT, while Quesada and Duntiné open in the round of 16 at 8:30 a.m.
In singles action, Scribner has a qualifying match Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Quesada, Dutiné, and Nakamine all have matches in the main singles draw that afternoon. Competition continues Friday, with the semifinal and championship rounds of each draw to be played Saturday. The men's singles final could be pushed to Sunday if a player is in both the singles and doubles finals.
Results will be posted here at the conclusion of each match.
