Wildcats Win Four Matches on Final Day in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Abilene Christian men's tennis team finished its run at the Conference Individual Tournament with a successful final day, going 4-1 in played matches on Saturday.

The Wildcats were led by Dennis Dutine and Luis Jose Nakamine. The two each won a singles match in the semifinals of the north draw, and then also won their respective doubles matches in the west draw semifinals. In both cases the resulting final match of the each draw would have pitted two ACU players against each other, so those matches were not played.

Nakamine teamed up with Ethan Scribner to win back-to-back doubles matches on Friday and Saturday. Dutine and partner Tomas Quesada also bounced back after an opening-day defeat.

The tournament served as the Atlantic Sun's unofficial conference event for singles and doubles with the respective winners advancing to the ITA Conference Masters in San Diego, where they will have a path to the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.

ACU's men's tennis team is playing as a member of the ASUN for the 2025-26 season due to the WAC only fielding one other men's team (UT Arlington).

Below are results from Saturday's matches involving ACU players.
