ABILENE — The ACU men's tennis team will host its first home match of the 2025 spring season at 11 a.m. Saturday when the Wildcats host Lubbock Christian at the Eager Tennis Center.
The Wildcats are 1-4 on the season after picking up their first spring win last Saturday with a 5-2 decision over Midwestern State in Dallas. ACU started the year against the country's top two men's teams – #2 TCU and #1 Texas – before playing Baylor and SMU. But the win over Midwestern snapped the four-match losing streak to start the season.
The Chaparrals from the NCAA Division II Lone Star Conference are playing three straight NCAA Division I opponents to start the season: ACU, UT-Rio Grande Valley, and New Mexico State. The Chaps enter the 2025 season seeking their third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division II national tournament.
The match against LCU is the first of seven straight at home for the Wildcats, who will also play UTRGV (Jan. 30), Hardin-Simmons (Feb. 1), Tyler Junior College (Feb. 14), Trinity (Feb. 15), Lamar (Feb. 22), and UT-Arlington in the first Western Athletic Conference match of the season (Feb. 27).
