ACU Drops 3-2 Contest at Grand Canyon

PHOENIX – Abilene Christian out-hit Grand Canyon 11-6 but couldn't push any runs across after a two-run first inning and lost 3-2 on Saturday.
Miller Ladusau had a double for his career-record 257th hit.
Gino D'Alessio singled in a run and later scored on a wild pitch in the first inning.
Iain Campa took a no-hitter into the fifth inning but was charged with three runs in the inning and took the loss.
Caden Greanead pitched 3.1 innings of one-hit, shutout relief with three strikeouts.
Garrett Williams, Maddox Miesse and Aaron Staehely had two hits each. Ladusau and Benjamin Greer had doubles and D'Alessio, Ranse Radtke and Zandt Payne contributed singles.
The Cats left nine runners on base.
The loss dropped ACU into a fourth-place tie with Tarleton State in the league standings.
ACU and the Lopes finish the series with a 2 p.m. contest on Sunday.
