ABILENE – Abilene Christian got a walk-off win to spoil Utah Valley's late rally and the Wildcats claimed the series with a 5-4 win.
Brett Lanman pitched six strong innings, allowing one run on two hits but the Wolverines scored a run in the eighth and two in the ninth to tie the game.
Maddox Miesse led off the bottom of the ninth with a double and Holden Rook entered as a pinch runner. After a sacrifice bunt by Jack Nielsen moved Rook to third and Benjamin Greer was intentionally walked, Reese Borho singled an 0-2 pitch down the right field line for the game-winner.
Borho had gotten the scoring started in the third inning with a successful squeeze bunt to bring home Greer. Zandt Payne added a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0 in the third.
Two more ACU runs scored on an error in the eighth after the Wolverines had tied the game.
The Wildcats had six hits, led by Borho with two. Gino D'Alessio, Miesse, Greer and Aaron Staehely added one each.
Caden Greanead was credited with the win.
