Soccer Signing Day Recap

ABILENE – Abilene Christian Soccer picked up four freshmen for next fall on NCAA Signing Day on Wednesday.

Raegan Hollis, Gracie Kelly and twins Amelia and Raelin Miller signed with the Wildcats.

Hollis is a 5-3 forward from Wylie East High School in Wylie. Kelly is a 5-6 defender from Santiago High School in Corona, Calif. Amelia Miller is a 5-6 forward/midfielder and Raelin Miller is a 5-7 wing. The Millers attend Bishop Moore High School in Orlando, Fla.

"This 2024 signing class is going to project ACU Soccer to a new level, with each player bringing a strong pedigree of talent," said ACU Head Coach Stephen Salas. "During the recruiting process, our coaching staff were looking for impact players who could hit the ground running with our program and we found them. Each individual possesses a high level of athletic excellence, a driven mentality, genuine character, and academic prestige. They all come from high school and club teams that have a tradition of winning. Most of all I'm ready for these young ladies to join our ACU Family this fall!"

Hollis earned second-team All-State honors last season and 9-6A Offensive Player of the Year for a 28-1 WHS squad that reached the State semifinals after winning District, Area and Region titles. She also earned All-District honors in her previous two seasons.

"I met Coach Salas a few years back and really enjoyed his coaching style," said Hollis. "After meeting him, seeing him at different ID camps, and hearing about his previous seasons I thought he was definitely someone I would want to play for. I looked into what ACU was all about and was excited to find how true they are to their Christian title and how they care about each student. I appreciate how ACU pushes their students to walk in their faith and can't wait for these next four years!"

Hollis, who is a three-time Academic All-District selection, volunteers at Lonesome Dove Ranch Foster Camps and attends Northplace Church in Sachse.

"Raegan has tremendous athletic ability and is an attacking threat to anyone she plays against," said Salas. "Her desire to find the back of the net is what sets her apart. She is one of the most talented and decorated players in North Texas. Raegan plays for two strong teams in Wylie East HS and FC Dallas ECNL, both are state and national contenders annually. We are excited for Raegan's future with Abilene Christian."

Kelly is a two-time All-Big 8 League honoree and Santiago's Defensive MVP in 2022-23 and Unsung Hero in 2021-22. She also is a two-time All-Conference selection on her ENCL club team. She has captained her nationally-ranked high school team for two seasons.

Academically, she is in the top one percent of her class and a two-time Scholar-Athlete. Kelly has three times been a part of the All-League Academic Team.

"Gracie is a complete player, person, and student-athlete who will make a tremendous impact at ACU," said Salas. "She is an exceptional defender who is sophisticated, has quick pace, and can attack from the backline. Gracie is driven to excellence in all that she does, which will help add to our culture. She will be a talented Wildcat who will continue to develop into a leader in the WAC."

Amelia Miller is a 2022 Orlando Sentinel All-Area selection on a Bishop Moore squad that won back-to-back State titles.

"Amelia is a talented attacking player who has exceptional ball control, finds the back of the net on multiple occasions, and has the equal capacity to set up goals for her teammates," said Salas. "I'm impressed with her ability and vision to do things on the ball that most players can not. Amelia and her twin sister, Raelin, were my first commits as ACU's Head Coach which makes it even more special. They are both multi-sport athletes who are also gifted in tennis and golf. We are excited for Amelia to help propel our ACU Family forward!"

Amelia Miller served as an officer of the National Science and Athletic Honor Societies.

"I chose ACU for the faith-based education and the feeling when I stepped onto campus, I felt like I was at home," said Amelia.

Raelin Miller also was a member of those championship teams and an OS All-Area selection. She also was the school's tennis MVP and Most Athletic Female.

"Raelin is a multi-faceted attacking player who is skillful on both sides of the ball, as well as having the expertise to score or assist," Salas said. "She is an aggressive competitor who plays with determination and grit every time she steps on the field. Raelin is joining us with her twin sister, Amelia, who have won back-to-back soccer state championships the past two years in Florida. We are ecstatic for Raelin to be joining the Purple and White!"

Raelin Miller is an officer for the Science National Honor Society and a member of several other honor societies.
