Vaqueros Top Wildcats in Four

EDINBURG – Abilene Christian has a strong third set but couldn't carry off the match win, falling at Texas-Rio Grande Valley, 3-1 on Saturday.
The Vaqueros won the match 25-21, 25-13, 13-25, 25-13.
The Wildcats had a .143 attack percentage for the match but revealed the level at which they could play in the third set when they posted 16 kills against one attack error for a .750 percentage for the set. Bryley Steinhilber, Breanna Box and Ashli Edmiston had four kills each in that set.
Box ended the match with 14 kills to lead the Cats. Madeline Guffy had 33 assists and Abby Christian tacked on three aces.
Sara Carrizales led ACU with 16 digs with Steinhilber adding 12. Box was a part of five blocks.
ACU finishes its regular season on Monday, hosting Tarleton State at 6 p.m., before heading to Orem, Utah, later next week for the WAC Tournament.
