ACU Football prepares for WAC Media Day

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Three members of the ACU football program will be in attendance for WAC Media Day next week, marking the unofficial start to the 2022 campaign. The event will be held in The Woodlands, Texas on July 19, with head coach Keith Patterson, running back Anthony Smith and linebacker Tory Hargrove representing the Wildcats.
Hargrove and Smith both saw action in all 11 games for the Purple and White a season ago, with Hargrove recording 4.5 tackles for loss and recovering a fumble and Smith finding the end zone three times from a crowded ACU backfield.
Tuesday's event will feature press conferences, interview sessions, photo shoots and more with each of the league's head coaches and student-athletes from each institution. The Wildcats will be joined by Tarleton, Dixie State, SFA, Sam Houston and newcomer Southern Utah.
All press conferences will be available live on ESPN+, with WAC Commissioner Brian Thornton set to kick off the day at 9 a.m. ACU's trio will join the WAC's Kendra Sheehan on stage at 10 a.m., with media availability set to follow at 11:00.
ACU's social media platforms (@acufootball on Twitter and Instagram) will follow all the action from Media Day.
Fall camp begins on August 1, with the team coming together for the first time on Report Day the previous afternoon. The Wildcats are set to kick off the 2022 campaign at home against Lamar on Sept. 1, and the full schedule can be found by clicking here.
