Six players score in double figures to lead ACU over Patriots

ABILENE — The Wildcats men's basketball team ran their win streak to three games on Saturday afternoon with an 88-42 win over Arlington Baptist. Abilene Christian set the tone early forcing two turnovers in the first four Patriot possessions and jumped out to the 5-0 lead. ACU held the 42-19 lead going into halftime and pushed that lead to 54-19 through five minutes of action in the second half. The win moved ACU to 5-4 on the year with a big road matchup against Kansas State on deck.

  • Back-to-back threes from Damien Daniels and Airion Simmons gave ACU an early 11-2 lead.
  • Daniels got a steal and ran out for the layup in transition to give the Wildcats a 15-point lead with eight minutes to play in the first half.
  • Yuot Gai grabbed an offensive board and fed a driving Ali Dibba for a layup to put ACU up 39-14 with just over three minutes to play before halftime.
  • The Wildcats opened the second half on a 12-0 run highlighted by two threes from Immanuel Allen and a steal from Daniels leading to a Tobias Cameron dunk in transition.
  • An offensive rebound from Daniels led to an open corner three from Cameron Steele to put the team up 76-37.
  • A three from JV Seat capped the game for the Wildcats with just under a minute to play.
