ACU
- The Wildcats opened the season last week on the road against FBS opponent SMU, who was receiving votes in the first edition of the national polls.
- Redshirt freshman
Stone Earle made his second collegiate start, throwing for 160 yards and a late touchdown to
Kobe Clark while adding a team-high 43 rushing yards.
- Clark has now hauled in five touchdown passes in as many games dating back to last season, making him one of the biggest threats in the WAC.
-
Hunter Kier and
Ryan Stapp each picked up six tackles in the loss to SMU, while Stapp was also credited with a pass breakup.
-
Blair Zepeda gave the Purple and White a 47-yard field goal in the opener, four yards shy of his career-best.
Louisiana College
- Lousiana College has opened the season with back-to-back tight losses, falling 42-41 against North American in their season debut before falling 20-13 against Southwestern Assemblies of God last Saturday.
- Quarterback Sal Palermo III has been used as a true dual-threat so far this fall, passing for 327 yards and four scores while rushing for 139 yards and two touchdowns.
- The Wildcats have been vulnerable against the rush thus far, giving up nearly 130 yards per game on the ground.
- The kicking game could also play a key factor this weekend, as Hunter Martennson has gone just 4-for-8 on field goal attempts and has yet to record a touchback in 12 kickoffs.
