11/19/2021 1:00:00 PM | Baseball
ABILENE – Head coach Rick McCarty and the ACU baseball team announced its 2022 schedule this week, and the season begins Friday, Feb. 18 at home against North Dakota State. The schedule encompasses 53 games, including 30 Western Athletic Conference games (10 three-game series), and another 23 non-conference games (five series). Overall the team will open with the first 12 games at Crutcher Scott Field, where the team is 48-21 over the last three seasons. The WAC schedule will featured two separate three-game series, one home and one away, against each of the teams who reside in the southwest division of the league (SFA, Sam Houston, Lamar, UTRGV, Tarleton).
2021 Opponents By The Numbers
- 100: ACU's RPI last season, the second-highest mark in program history
- 9: Games vs. Power 5 opponents (Michigan State x4, TCU x2, Texas Tech x2, Baylor)
- 7: Home games vs. Power 5 opponents (Michigan State x4, Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech)
- 5: Games against the Big 12 (TCU x2, Texas x2, Baylor)
- 53: RPI against teams they will play in the midweek
February's Two Home Series
- ACU kicks off the season with the first 12 games at home, beginning with the North Dakota State Bison of the Summit League. NDSU finished 42-19 and earned a spot in the Stanford regional last spring.

11 Home Games in March
- ACU opens March at The Crutch with Marist College from the MAAC, and will play a three-game series with the Red Foxes.
- Baylor comes to town for the first midweek of the season. It is the lone matchup with the Bears.
- WAC play opens in Edinburg, Texas against UTRGV from May 11-13. With the way the WAC is set up, ACU will play all five schools in the division one time through, then play them all again in the opposite location.
- ACU heads to the I-20 battle in Arlington against the Mavericks of UTA for the first of two meetings. The game takes place Tuesday, March 15.

- The seven-game home stand continues with the Horned Frogs of TCU on Tuesday, March 22.
- Former Lone Star rival Tarleton will be in Abilene for three games, as now both teams reside in the same Division I conference.
- March concludes with the back-half of the home-and-home with TCU, this time in Fort Worth on March 29.
