ABILENE – Abilene Christian women's tennis ended its weekend stay in Dallas on a positive note as the Wildcats won four of six singles matches vs. North Texas Sunday at SMU's Red and Blue Challenge.

Ileana Mocciola and freshman
Claire Fisher all emerged victorious in three-set battles. Adams won at the top line over Nidhi Surapaneni in comeback fashion, 1-6, 6-3, 10-4, while Mocciola engaged in a trio of tiebreakers, winning 7-6 (4), 6-7 (5), 10-8 over Sophia Hummel.
Fisher's win was a 6-4, 1-6, 10-8 decision over Hanuka Sasaki, and at the No. 2 line junior
Nini Memishishi toppled Kexuan Zhou in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
In doubles play, freshman
Claire Fisher scored a pair of wins with two different teammates. She and classmate
Eva Du Toit beat North Texas' Sasaki and Hummel, 7-5, and later Fisher paired with sophomore
Sylvia Viljoen to beat a duo from Central Arkansas, 6-2.
Additional Wildcat victories included a No. 2 line singles win by sophomore
Allison Stewart over Northwestern State's Dora Szczygielska, 6-3, 6-3, and a top-position doubles win for Adams / Memishishi vs. UT Arlington's Liz Chileno / Polina Akimova, 6-1.
Next up for the Wildcats is a trip to Waco and Baylor University for the annual ITA Texas Region Tournament. ACU's last fall event will take place Oct. 19-23.
