ABILENE – Current members of the ACU Wildcat Club will begin receiving renewal notices in the mail this week as the athletics program begins looking toward the 2017-18 season.
The Wildcat Club – a re-branding of former booster clubs at ACU with the same name – launched last year as the official fundraising organization of ACU Athletics. Anyone who contributes $100 or more annually to any area within ACU Athletics automatically becomes a member of the Wildcat Club and receives exclusive member benefits.
Donations made to the Wildcat Club through May 31, 2017, will count toward each member's Wildcat Loyalty Points, which will determine priority for football season ticket locations for the 2017 season, the first in Anthony Field at Wildcat Stadium.
Membership in the Wildcat Club can be renewed on an annual basis and all gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by IRS regulations. Besides renewing through the mail, those interested in renewing online can visit acuwildcatclub.com and click on the "Login" tab at the top right of the web page. If you have never logged in previously, please click "Forgot your Password?" and follow the prompts. For questions about renewals or to make your donation over the phone, please call 325-674-2323.
Dollars raised by the Wildcat Club will directly impact more than 350 student-athletes by providing scholarships, enhancing facilities and promoting academic and athletics success. The Wildcat Club's initial membership goal last year was 500 members, but it surpassed that with 703 members during the 2016-17 academic year.
ACU director of athletics Lee De León said his renewal goal for 2017-18 is 70 percent, and that the goal for the upcoming year is to have more than 900 total members. Last year, the 703 members of the Wildcat Club raised more than $6.25 million, including contributions to the Wildcat Annual Fund, capital and endowment gifts, as well as donations to ACU's sport-specific excellence funds.
