ARDMORE, Okla. – Central Oklahoma pulled away from the field Tuesday to take the team championship at the Dornick Hills Classic, finishing 26 shots ahead of runner-up ACU at the Dornick Hills Country Club.
The Bronchos – who had an eight-stroke lead over the Wildcats going into Tuesday's final round – shot a tournament-best round of 1-under-par 279 on Tuesday to win the team championship. UCO's team championship is its second straight following last week's win over the Wildcats at the Charles Coody West Texas Intercollegiate in Abilene.
ACU finished as the runner-up to the Bronchos for the second straight week, shooting a final-round 297 to finish at 884, two strokes ahead of third-place St. Edwards (886). Arkansas-Forth Smith finished fourth at 895 with Cameron in fifth at 897.
Central Oklahoma's Andrew Green won the individual championship by following up his Monday rounds of 70-69 with another even-par 70 on Tuesday to finish at 1-under-par 209, three strokes ahead of West Texas A&M's Ben Hargis, who finished at 2-over-par 212.
ACU was led by junior Alex Carpenter, who shot a 1-over-par 71 on Tuesday to finish tied for seventh at 210. Freshman Corbin Renner finished tied for ninth at 221, while sophomore Trey Sulivan was tied for 18th at 225, while Ian Evans was tied for 20th at 226.
