
Hill, Wildcats Rise to Fourth-Place Finishes at All-American Intercollegiate

HUMBLE, Texas - Tres Hill's top-five performance powered Abilene Christian men's golf to a fourth-place finish at the All-American Intercollegiate at Golf Club of Houston on Tuesday afternoon. With three golfers in the top 25, the Wildcats rose one spot in the final round to register their third consecutive top-four placement. It's their fourth in their last five events.
ACU closed at 42-over 906 after entering the day tied for fifth place. The Wildcats delivered one of the 16-team field's top showings in the final round, scoring 2-over 290. ACU tied for the third-most pars with 169 and recorded the fourth-fewest bogeys.
No. 4 Arkansas captured the team title at 18-over 882, while Tarleton State's Alvaro Pastor topped the individual leaderboard at 2-under 214.
Hill led the charge at 5-over 221, good for his best placement as a Wildcat. He scored 2-under 70 in the third round, shooting above par on only his second hole and scoring at or below par on each hole after that with three birdies. Hill paced the field on par-4 holes at 2-over and tied for the third-most birdies with 10.
Thomas Buisson continued his consistent play, rising 17 spots in the final round to tie for 19th place and pick up his eighth top-25 effort of the season. He shot 1-under 71 on Tuesday to wrap up at 11-over 227. Buisson tallied four birdies in the final round, with each coming within the final six holes. He registered the fewest bogeys by a Wildcat and tied for sixth on par 4s at 6-over.
Colin Leonard was the final ACU golfer in the top 25, tying for 25th at 13-over 229. He issued his best round on Tuesday at 2-over 74, scoring at or below par on the final 16 holes. Leonard also tied for sixth on par 4s and drew for 10th with 36 pars.
Grégoire Hoyeau tied for 37th at 16-over 232 following a 3-over 75 in the third round. He led the Wildcats and tied for fifth with 38 pars. Preston DeFriend closed things out in a tie for 75th at 30-over 246.
Preston Cooper and Jack Hollingsed each landed within the top 10 at the All-American Individual, hosted at Golf Club of Houston's par-72, 7,508-yard Member Course. Cooper placed fifth at 12-over 228, while Hollingsed finished in seventh at 15-over 231.
Cooper bettered his score by two strokes each round with a 6-over 78 and a 4-over 76 on Monday. He shot 2-over 74 in the final round. Hollingsed carded a 3-over 75 and 7-over 79 in the first two rounds, respectively, before closing with a 5-over 77.
Both Wildcats tied for 10th in the 33-golfer field with six birdies apiece. They each tied for second on par 3s at 2-over. Cooper placed fourth on par 4s at 6-over, and Hollingsed tied for sixth on par 5s at even par. Cooper tied for fourth with 32 pars, while Hollingsed drew for 10th with 29.
