LAST TIME OUT
The 2011 baseball finally got under way for ACU last weekend as they dropped their LSC opening series to Texas A&M-Kingsville. The Wildcats closed out the series with a, 6-3 win on Saturday afternoon after falling 7-4 and 14-13 in games one and two. ACU's bullpen allowed nine runs in the bottom of the seventh allowing the Javelinas to take a one-run lead and the game. Starting pitching was a strong point for ACU over the opening weekend as all three starters held leads after leaving in the fifth inning. A pair of Cameron's was solid for ACU as Cameron Watten went 3 for 8 and Cameron Bankston hit .333 with a pair of RBIs. Newcomer Duncan Blades recorded four RBIs over the weekend to lead the Wildcats while JR Roland blasted the only Wildcat homer of the weekend. Will Calhoun picked up the win in the finale pitching in relief of Watten as both pitchers recorded five strikeouts over the weekend.

EAST CENTRAL
The Tigers picked up a mid-week win over Mid-America Christian to pull their record to 2-3 on the season. ECU got an early season win at Northwestern Oklahoma State splitting the series before dropping a three game conference series last week with Southeastern Oklahoma.

UP NEXT
The Wildcats will travel to Austin for a mid-week Tuesday match up with St. Edward's before returning to LSC play on the road at Southeastern Oklahoma.
