ABILENE – A pair of goals from Sophomore Julie Coppedge gave ACU all they needed as they shutout Southwestern Oklahoma Sunday, 4-0 at the Wildcat Soccer Pitch.
Coppedge scored the first two goals for the Wildcats with a first half goal in the 30th minute which would be all ACU needed. She added a second goal just 10 minutes into the second period to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead.
Freshman Andrea Carpenter would extend her single season record to 15 as she added a goal in the 68th minute on an assist from Ashley Simon. Carpenter has scored a goal in 11 of the Wildcats' 13 games this season and has scored six goals in her last three.
Ashley Craig would finish the Wildcat scoring just before the 80th minute as she netted her first goal of the season.
Elliot London was in net for ACU as she recorded her third shutout of the season and six for the Wildcats overall. The win moves the Wildcats record to 11-2 and 7-1 in the Lone Star Conference while
Southwestern Oklahoma falls to 6-8 and 2-5 in league play.
ACU returns to action as they travel to Angelo State and Incarnate Word next week to continue LSC action.
