2024-2025
Indoors – Avery competed in 4 meets, throwing the weight throw at each meet. During the regular season, she placed 12 th in the TTU Red Raider Invitational; 15 th in the TTU Stan Scott Invitational; and 10 th at the Howe Ryan Invitational. At the WAC Championship, she placed 6 th in the WT with a new personal best of 50-2.5/15.30m.
Outdoors – Avery was off to a strong start outdoors, as she placed 4 th in the ACU Wes Kittley Invitational discus throw and at the TTU Masked Rider Invitational he placed 5 th in the JT and 9 th DT, before a training accident curtailed the rest of her season.

2023-2024
Indoors – did not compete indoors. 
Outdoors – competed in 9 meets in a very busy outdoor season. Opened the season, by placing 3rd in both the hammer throw and javelin at the Trinity Invitational in San Antonio. She followed that effort by competing in three throws at that Wes Kittley Invitational, ACU’s only home meet in 2024 – finishing 4th in the HT. Additional highlights included a 3 rd place finish in the HT at the David Noble Relays in San Angelo; a 2nd place finish in the DT at the Joe Gillespie Invitational in Stephenville; a 12th place finish in the Michael Johnson Invitational at Baylor in the HT, with a new personal best of 154-9/47.17m; and at the Corky/Crofoot Open at Texas Tech, she placed 2nd in the JT with a new personal best of 140-/42.71m and 6th place in the DT with a new personal best of 144-10/44.14. Competing at her first-ever WAC Championship, she would finish the season by placing 7th in the DT and 10th in the JT.

2022-2023
Indoors – redshirt. Competed unattached in 1 indoor meet, placing 8th  at the TTU Jarvis Scott Open in the weight throw with a throw of 46-10.25 in her first meet throwing the WT. 
Outdoors – redshirt. Competed unattached in 5 outdoor meets. Throwing unattached, she threw 3 different implements (javelin, hammer throw, discus throw) in 3 of those meets. She won the TTU Masked Rider DT; and at the War Hawk Classic, she finished 2nd in the DT, 3rd in the JT, and 4th in the HT.

Before ACU
During HS, Avery competed in volleyball, soccer, softball and T&F for the Geneva School of Boerne. Avery was 2nd in the TAPPS 4A discus as a freshman, junior, and senior (her sophomore year was cancelled due to the pandemic). As a HS senior, she also placed 3rd in the TAPPS District 4-5A shot put. Her HS bests were 127- 8 in the DT and 33-0 in the shot put.

Personal
A 2022 graduate of the Geneva School of Boerne, Avery is majoring in Public Relations/Advertising/Applied Communication at ACU. Her parents are Robert and Kelly Myrick – Robert graduated from ACU in 2000 and Kelly in 2002. Avery’s brother, Easton, was a football letterman for ACU. Avery’s maternal grandfather, Berto Guerra, is a member of the ACU Board of Trustees.
