2015 (Redshirt Junior): Appeared in eight games, three as a reserve wide receiver and five as a backup safety, as well as special teams appearances. … Made the switch from offense to defense prior to the New Mexico (Oct. 17) game. … Had one reception for two yards in the season-opening victory over Colorado (Sept. 3). … Made four total tackles on defense, highlighted by a season-best three stops against Air Force (Oct. 31).

2014: Redshirted due to pre-season injury.

2013 (Sophomore): Appeared in 11 games, making four starts at wide receiver. … Finished fourth on the team with 29 catches for 354 yards and three touchdowns. … Averaged 12.2 yards per catch. … Season-high six catches for 128 yards and one touchdown against San Jose State (Oct. 5). … Also scored against Fresno State (Sept. 28) and Army (Nov. 30). … Hauled in five receptions for 64 yards versus Fresno State. … Tallied six catches for 64 yards at Wyoming (Nov. 23).
 
Prior To Hawai’i: Attended Blinn College in Brenham, Texas, where, as a freshman, he led the team with 47 receptions for 742 yards and seven TDs. … Enjoyed best game versus Northeastern Oklahoma A&M with nine catches for 142 yards and two touchdowns. … Redshirted the 2011 season.

High school: A 2011 graduate of Westbury Christian High School in Houston. … Earned three letters in football and played both sides of the ball, lining up at receiver and safety. … Named all-state as receiver in 2010 and 2011. … As a senior, Haynes led the team in receiving yards, touchdowns and yards per catch while scoring 17 total touchdowns. … He also led the team in interceptions and was selected to play in the Texas Private School Coaches Association All-Star Football Game. … Coached in football at Westbury by Heisman Trophy winner and former NBA player Charlie Ward. … Haynes was also a four-year letterwinner in basketball and was part of a squad that captured back-to-back state basketball championships. … He also lettered in baseball, swimming and track.
