Collins will start at center in 2007. Collins has started 21 straight games at center for the Wildcats.
2006 (Sophomore): Started 11 games at center, helping the Wildcats produce one of the top offenses in NCAA Division II football. The Wildcats finished third in NCAA Division II football in passing offense (296.8 yards per game), fourth in total offense (434.2 ypg), sixth in scoring offense (35.5 points per game), and first in fewest fumbles (three) and fewest overall turnovers (nine). Additionally, the ACU offensive line allowed just 12 sacks in 11 games in 2006. Collins is a mathematics major who was an academic all-LSC South Division selection in 2006. Collins also earned first team academic all-District 6 honors from ESPN The Magazine.
2005 (Freshman): Started 10 games at center as a true freshman, helping the Wildcats increase their yards per game by almost 100 yards from 2004 to 2005.
High school: Collins helped lead the Raiders to a 56-5 record in four seasons on the varsity. Collins and the Raiders won the Class 4A Division I state championship in 2001 (42-35 over Smithson Valley in overtime), and the Class 4A Division II state championship in 2002 (38-8 over Brenham). The Raiders lost the 2003 Class 4A Division I state title game (43-35 in overtime to LaMarque). In 2004 Ryan's first season in Class 5A the Raiders finished 12-2 and second in District 5-5A to eventual Class 5A state champion and USA Today national champion Southlake Carroll. Collins and the Raiders played Southlake Carroll in a district game on ESPN2, and he and his teammates played in a pair of games that were broadcast on Fox Sports Southwest. As a sophomore in 2002, Collins was a first team all-district center, and as a junior in 2003 he was a first team all-district and first team all-area performer selected by the Denton Record-Chronicle. As a senior he was a first team all-state honoree, as well as a first team all-area and all-district selection.
