ACU redshirt sophomore quarterback Tucker Parks has earned the United Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor, the league office announced Monday morning.Â
Parks led the Wildcats to a 35-7 victory over #17 West Florida to begin UAC play last Saturday. The Spring, Texas native was masterful through the air, completing 16-of-17 passes for 155 yards and three touchdowns to go along with a career-high 97 yards rushing. His completion percentage of 94.1% is the best for an ACU quarterback since Stone Earle went 18-of-19 (94.7%) against Louisiana College in 2021.
Parks, making his fourth college start, powered the Wildcats to a 28-0 halftime lead and helped give the team a much-needed victory to go to 1-0 in conference action. It is the seventh consecutive season that ACU has won its first home conference game.
The three passing touchdowns all went to different receivers with JC French-Love and Jayden York both hauling in the first scores of their respective careers. The final TD throw went to tight end Itty Henry.Â
Â
Parks is the third Wildcat to win a UAC weekly award this season. Alex Broome took home the Special Teams Player of the Week with his 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown at Texas Tech. Kicker Brandon Perez won the same award with his 11-point performance at Idaho, including a 51-yard field goal.
ACU finishes its three-game homestand on Saturday by hosting Central Arkansas for Big Country Night presented by Hendrick Clinic Bone and Joint. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
