2012 (Freshman): Spent the season as a redshirt for the Wildcats.

High school: Played quarterback, punt and kicker for Pettus HS.  As a junior in 2010 he threw for 2,156 yards and 28 touchdowns and ran for 626 yards and eight touchdowns and kicked seven field goals with a long of 46 yards. As a senior in 2011 he threw for 2,193 yards and 29 touchdowns while rushing for 781 yards and 10 touchdowns.  He also added 21 touchbacks and ix field goals.  Two-time district MVP and first team all-state placekicker as a junior in 2010.  All-state quarterback in 2010 and 2011. Led his team to back-to-back 9-3 records in 2010 and 2011.  He also lettered four times in baseball (four-time first team all-district selection) and was a first team all-district and all-region selection in basketball in 2010-11 and 2011-12.
