High school: Myatt was one of the top athletes in the Panhandle the three previous seasons, lettering in football, basketball, baseball and track and field. An all-state player in both football and basketball, Myatt was a high school teammate of fellow ACU signee Jake Truelove. Myatt was an all-district and all-state defensive tackle as a senior, and he was also an all-area selection by the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal at defensive tackle in 2006. As a basketball player, Myatt averaged 16.2 points and 6.7 rebounds per game as a senior to earn District 3-2A co-Offensive MVP honors. He was also selected to the All-South Plains first team by the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.
