Franklin is listed as a backup wide receiver for the Wildcats after transferring to ACU from Wyoming. Franklin spent the 2005 season as a redshirt at Wyoming before leaving the team prior to the 2006 season.

High school: First team all-District 11-5A as a senior after catching 29 passes for 640 yards and three scores. He also returned two punts for touchdowns. He was the team's Offensive MVP as both a junior and senior. Franklin also lettered in track and field.
