Spent the 2005 season as a redshirt and was on the squad in 2006. Will be a backup linebacker in 2007.

High school: Helped Abilene HS finish 12-1 on the season and win its first outright District 3-5A championship since 1958. Voted a team captain as both a junior in 2003 and senior in 2004, and he was a first team all-District 3-5A selection as a senior in 2004. He was named to the Abilene Reporter-News' all-Big Country Team.
