Truelove will redshirt as a freshman in 2007.

High school: Three-year letterwinner at Abernathy HS where he earned first team all-district honors at both tight end and punter as a senior in 2006. As a senior he caught 31 passes for 632 yards and two touchdowns, finishing his career with 42 catches for 753 yards. He was an academic all-state selection, and he was named to the Top O' Texas Super Team at tight end. As a junior in 2005, Truelove was an all-South Plains selection at tight end by the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, and he also earned all-district honors. He also lettered in basketball, golf and track and field. He was a regional qualifier in both golf and track and field (discus) as a senior in 2007.

Personal: Played for his father, Tony Truelove, at Abernathy HS. Born 28 Dec 1988. 2007 graduate of Abernathy High School.
